Hey:)
( I wrote this in September so it is a few months old but still all true!)
A few weeks ago, just after the holidays ended my friend
Sarah (who is also from Sydney Australia) came to Horsens for 5 days and that
was so fun. Unfortunately, she lives about 3 hours away by train so we can’t
see each other much, so when she came over we tried to see abit. One of the
days we spent at LEGOLAND with Sarah, my host mum, and my two little host
brothers and that was great. It was not very busy, which was great because we
only had to wait 5 minutes or less for every ride so by the end of the day, we
were all VERY tired! The day before, Sarah and I went to the Horsens Medieval
Festival, which usually is held in the walking street, but this year it was at
the Big Old Prison. We weren’t sure what it was and we were only thinking of
staying a short time, but there were so many people and medieval stalls and old
games that we spent several hours there!
After Sarah left the week wasn’t too busy until the weekend,
which was packed full! On the Thursday I had my Rotary Meeting and then went to
a Jazz Concert in a Church then on Friday I spent the day with my 1st
host family, and 300 other people, celebrating my 1st host families
business of the 75th Anniversary and that caught up with some
friends.
On Saturday and Sunday I had my districts Get Together in Ry,
which was super fun! Not only did I get to meet all the Newbies, I got to see
my friends again from Eurotour!
Then on the Tuesday I went with another friend to Jelling to
see the Queen who was there for the Opening of some new statues and Historic
events. Then the following weekend I drove with my 2nd Host dad, and
some other Rotarians from my club, down to Germany where my Club in Denmark is
partners with this club in Germany. We only stayed there for the weekend but it
was so nice to live in a German house and see how their Rotary Club works. They
were all so nice and I had a lovely time!
The rest of the time I have been busy every day, but mostly
just catching up with friends or doing something with a Rotarian or my host
family, and it has been lovely.
In 2 days, I will be going to Paris with my French class and
I am super excited!!! I have also planned to go to Germany again with 5 other
girls from my class to visit a friend who lives in Germany. Flora was an
exchange student in Denmark too, from Jan – June and she was in the same class
as me, so I am very excited to go with my good friends for a road trip down to
where Flora lives.
That’s it for now!
